Dimity Powell

Back Award winning children's author, Dimity Powell loves to fill every spare moment with words. She writes and reviews exclusively for children and is the Managing Editor for Kids' Book Review.

Her word webs appear in anthologies, school magazines, junior novels, as creative digital content, and in picture books. Her junior novel, PS Who Stole Santa’s Mail? debuted in 2012. Her first picture book, The Fix-It Man released world-wide in 2017. Her second picture book, At The End of Holyrood Lane (2018) won the SCBWI Crystal Kite Members Choice Award 2019 Australia New Zealand. Pippa, her third picture book launched mid 2019 with another to follow in 2021. Her digital narrative, The Chapel of Unlove commissioned for the interactive Story City App, was Shortlisted for the Western Australian Premier's Book Awards 2016.

Dimity is a seasoned presenter both in Australia and overseas and is a Books in Homes Role Model Volunteer in Australia.

She believes picture books are food for the soul and should be consumed at least 10 times a week. If these aren't available, she will settle for ice-cream.

Dimity lives around the corner from Bat Man on the Gold Coast.
